Honestly, I can’t believe that only three short weeks after launching the Unpacified community that it would already be more than 10,000 members strong. Squad up! Take that, T Swizzle! It’s overwhelming, terrifying, joyous and energizing…much like motherhood (and womanhood, for that matter) itself.
In the excitement of this huge Unpacified milestone, I couldn’t help but be reminded of one of cinema’s most influential and timeless characters: Clueless’ Travis Birkenstock…
“I would like to say this… Mothering is nothing something you can do on your own. Many, many people have contributed to my mothering. I would like to thank my parents for never having the birds and the bees conversation with me, the LA city bus driver for taking a chance on a postpartum mama…and last, but not least, the wonderful crew at Moet Chandon, who spend hours upon hours making that perfect blend of pink champagne bubbles, without which…I might never be a mother.”
In the coming weeks, you’ll be hearing more from me…so that means I want to be hearing more from you. I legitimately live for all the amazing messages I’ve been receiving, so continue reaching out with ideas, comments, questions, etc. Share your victories, setbacks, challenges and funny stories from your daily life. Whether your a mom, an aunt, a daughter, a dad, an uncle or a son…we all experience these moments and all of our voices contribute to the collective conversation.
Ok, I’ll go first: When my daughter was 7-weeks-old, I threw a shoe at my husband for having the audacity and absolute gall to get the flu and would therefore be unable to do the dream feed. (I’m a BREEZE to be married to).
I’m BEYOND excited for these next few months as I continue rolling out new collaborations, projects and ways that our Mama Tribe can grow stronger together.
